Vision 2030 Awards honour for GIFS

The excitement of the industry awards season continues with GIFS being announced a finalist for the Vision 2030 Awards! The Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences is in the running in two categories: The Driver of Change Award and The SMME Award.

The Vision 2030 Awards recognise the achievements and success stories of organisations, enterprises and individuals that are actively demonstrating alignment to the government’s Nine-Point Plan to boost economic growth and achieve the milestones set by the National Development Plan (NDP).

GIFS CEO Dr Kershen Pillay’s stoic commitment to his vision of creating a better Africa through affordable, quality education has earned him a nomination in the Driver of Change category, alongside 16 other notable individuals who “inspire their peers and all stakeholders nationwide to pledge commitment to the NDP – not in words alone but in actions that move the nation forward.”

GIFS is also nominated in the SMME award category in recognition of its phenomenal growth and impact on the Financial Services Industry.

“It is incredibly humbling to receive four nominations at two distinguished awards in a week,” says GIFS CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay. “We are delighted to be in the running for two National Business Awards in the Fast Growth Business of the Year category and the Top Young Executive of the Year category. Those awards take place on the 20th November, then we’re back at Emperor’s Palace a day later for the Vision 2030 Awards. This truly is an exciting time for GIFS and we are humbled and honoured by such industry recognition.”

GIFS’ commitment to creating a better Africa for others to inherit by harnessing the transformative power of education is aligned to the fundamental principles of Vision 2030. The diverse skills development and mentorship initiatives spearheaded by GIFS aimed at socio-economic enhancement have been recognised as among “leading companies and organisations that have implemented successful development and investment projects and can clearly demonstrate success with measurable returns to stakeholders in relation to projects aligned to the NDP.”

As the countdown to the awards ceremony at Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg on 20 November 2019 begins, the Vision 2030 awards committee has revealed that there was an overwhelming number of nominations for the various categories this year that “casts a positive glow on the future of South Africa and showcases the commitment of both the public and private sectors to the NDP.”

We’re holding thumbs and will keep you posted!
