Two National Business Awards nominations for GIFS!

We are incredibly honoured, humbled and excited to be nominated in two categories at one of South Africa’s most prestigious awards: The National Business Awards. GIFS CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay, is a nominee in the Top Young Executive of the Year category, while GIFS is in the running for the Fast Growth Business of the Year Award.

Regarded as “the Oscars of South African business”, the awards ceremony honours outstanding business practice, performance and innovation across all industries in South Africa. This is the third consecutive year that the National Business Awards committee has acknowledged GIFS’ work and leadership. GIFS’ predecessor, Masifunde Training Centre, received nominations in 2017 and 2018 in recognition of its success, innovation and commitment to socio-economic upliftment.

“It is such an honour to be acknowledged alongside high-flyers of this calibre in South African business,” says GIFS’ CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay. “To be named a finalist for the third year in a row highlights our growth, our commitment to providing affordable, quality education to develop a skilled and capable workforce, and most importantly, our need to constantly innovate and outperform ourselves, year-on-year.”

The National Business Awards ceremony takes in Johannesburg later this month. “We are truly humbled by this extraordinary acknowledgement for The Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences (GIFS),” says Pillay. “As much as this is acknowledgement of our world-class offerings, distinctive service excellence and contributions towards creating a better Africa for others to inherit, it is also testament to the support from our loyal, expanding client base and the dedicated members of the GIFS’ Green Team who work passionately towards realising our vision and mission. I’d like to convey my heartfelt thanks to everyone who have been part of this phenomenal journey from our founder years as Masifunde Training Centre to our rebrand as The Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences (GIFS) earlier this year. We wouldn’t be here without your support!”

The awards ceremony takes place on 20 November at Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg. We’ll keep you posted!
