IIG Academic Programme 2019

2019 ends on a high for 13 insurance industry aspirants. Not only have they graduated from the GIFS-powered IIG Academic Programme, but they have all been snapped up by some of South Africa’s biggest insurance organisations.

Congratulations Class of 2019! Your hard work and commitment have paid off and you can now start reaping the rewards!

“The future of the insurance industry lies in the hands of agile, globally-connected role-players who are armed with the relevant knowledge, skills and foresight,” says GIFS CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay. “These are individuals who have a passion for working within the sector and who are not afraid of challenging existing mindsets, setting trends and blazing trails. The IIG Academic Programme identified these individuals, mentored them and armed them with employable skills. This has truly been a ground-breaking initiative, and we look forward to changing more lives next year!”

Formally structured, fully SAQA-compliant, and aligned to the National Certificate in Short-Term Insurance (NQF 5), the IIG Academic Programme spanned a year, with just a handful of hopefuls being selected from more than 1000 applicants.

Now, these competent, enthusiastic high-flyers are ready to conquer the insurance industry. We wish them everything of the best and will track their career paths with warm pride and honour!
